The Abilene Christian University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is continuing their commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® this year by hosting the 2nd Annual Run for Wishes. This community event is a time where participants, area Wish Kids and families, along with volunteers come together and take pride in making wishes come true! 

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.

In the 2010-2011 year, the ACU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) raised $7908.34 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® being among the top 3 schools in NCAA Division II to benefit Tatum Kate Flaming who was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia in July 2009, just a few months after her 3rd birthday.

The Abilene Christian University Athletic Department takes great pride in the accomplishments and contributions of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The purpose of SAAC at ACU is two-fold. First and foremost, SAAC serves as a liaison to the athletic administration at ACU, ensuring student-athletes have a voice in all issues impacting their overall experience and welfare. Secondly, SAAC serves as a leadership group recruiting fellow student-athletes to serve the campus and community through a variety of service programs.
